AXEL ANKLAM | AUF DER LICHTUNG

Axel Anklams Ausstellung „Auf der Lichtung“ eröffnet die MainStage der Saison 2016. Die gezeigten Skulpturen von Axel Anklam (*1971, Wriezen, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin und Bad Freienwalde) decken die Jahre 2005 bis 2016 ab.

Es sind biomorphe und doch abstrakte Formen. Häute aus Glasfaser, Epoxyd, Latex und Karbon auf Skeletten aus Stahl. Die Formen scheinen der Natur entlehnt und sind dennoch nie gesehen; eben so als würde man auf eine Lichtung treten und dort etwas ganz Ungewöhnliches entdecken.

Axel Anklam gehört in unseren Augen schon jetzt zu den avanciertesten und besten Bildhauern weltweit. Seine internationalen Preise und Ausstellungen sind ein Zeugnis der Anziehungskraft seiner Werke. Wir sind stolz, ihn im Till Richter Museum präsentieren zu können und freuen uns besonders, dass er zur Vernissage am 23.4.2016 persönlich anwesend sein wird. Besonderen Dank für die Leihgaben der Sammlung Frisch, Berlin.

The MainStage opens with Axel Anklam’s (*1971, Wriezen, lives and works in Berlin and Bad Freienwalde) retrospective Clearing, covering the years from 2005 to 2016.

His sculptures are biomorph yet abstract. Skins of glassfibre, epoxy resin, latex and carbon on skeletons of steel. The forms seem to be borrowed from nature but are never seen before; just like stepping onto a clearing and beholding of something extraordinary.

Axel Anklam in our eyes is among the most advanced and best contemporary sculptors worldwide. His international awards and exhibits speak to the attraction the work exerts. We are proud to be able to present him at the Till Richter Museum and are particularly happy that he will be present personally for the opening on April 23rd. The museums wishes to thank in particular Frisch Collection, Berlin for lending us some of their fine pieces.
